⚡ TL;DR — Version 1.47 Clarity Campaign: Part 3
Browsing resumes should never consume an entire workweek. Version 1.47 fundamentally restructures our action points recruiting economy: opening the Recruit window is now 100% free (0 AP), hiring staff costs a clean 1 AP flat rate without team-wipe glitches, and greenlighting products is capped at a predictable 2 AP.
Spending an entire workweek just opening LinkedIn to read resume fluff was the single most frustrating bottleneck in early versions of the game. Our comprehensive action points recruiting overhaul in v1.47 dismantles that artificial friction, making talent browsing completely free and stabilizing hire costs so founders can assemble elite chaos squads without draining their entire week.
The Death of the Talent Window Tax
Under the legacy simulation engine, simply clicking the “Recruit” icon on your vintage desktop deducted 1 Action Point from your executive pool. If you opened the window, realized you lacked the cash to hire a Principal Architect, and closed the window to review your balance sheet, your week was effectively ruined. You paid an Action Point simply to look at names.
In Version 1.47, talent window browsing is permanently decoupled from action economy. Opening Recruit costs 0 AP. You can inspect candidate skill trees, evaluate salary demands, toggle between Core Team and Contractors, and close the interface at will without spending a single minute of executive attention.
- Opening Recruit window: 1 AP
- Hiring Core Team member: 1 AP
- Product Greenlight: 2 AP + variable hire AP
- Category locked to Contractors
- Failed hire side-effects on error
- Opening Recruit window: 0 AP (FREE)
- Hiring any specialist: 1 AP Flat
- Product Greenlight: Flat 2 AP (No hidden costs)
- Seamless category switching
- Action points checked prior to side-effects
Mastering the Action Points Recruiting Meta
This balance rework transforms how players execute their opening weeks under the new action points recruiting rules. Because browsing is free, you can thoroughly survey the candidate pool during Week 1 before committing scarce capital. If you don’t yet have a Chief Technology Officer, the Recruit interface automatically opens to the Core Team roster to keep your priorities aligned.
Furthermore, action point validation now occurs strictly before any hiring side-effects execute. In previous versions, attempting to hire with insufficient AP while playing as certain chaotic archetypes could trigger unintended trait side-effects (such as firing existing engineers). In v1.47, candidate buttons clearly read “NEEDS 1 AP” when exhausted, and your team roster remains completely safe.
